Kalorama Traditional
Following an extensive home renovation by Donald Lococo Architects, our clients asked us to make what is a relatively shallow garden feel deeper by lifting and enclosing a panel of lawn in boxwood and grass risers. In the rear of the home, we created a fountain element between the breakfast room and garage to minimize the visual weight of the garage. The fountain is made from brick and cast stone and planted with herbs and perennials like lavender, hellebore, giant onion and lambs ear. The front of the house is a traditional boxwood parterre planted with groundcover and a rotating display of spring bulbs (first Daffodil, then Spanish Bluebell and finally giant onion, or Allium).
