The client wanted to update their kitchen, but found that replacing all the cabinets would be a waste. The solution? Create a bigger, center-of-focus island and to tear out that unused desk space in the corner. With a fresh coat of lighter paint and lighter cabinets, the space is much brighter and feels bigger than before! We re-utilized the desk space with a custom hutch, complete with glass doors and interior lighting. Of course, a white back-splash with a mosaic accent strip helps ties in the old with the new. We replaced the laminate counter tops with a beautiful African Rainbow granite, with a decorative edging, giving it more definition. Lastly, updating the old cabinets with a light rail to match underneath and matching custom end panels really puts the finishing touches on everything.
