Leaving Las Vegas

This is another new-build project in which I was enlisted to help the homeowners choose everything from the ground up, and I'm always so grateful for that kind of opportunity, but this was project was especially meaningful because I got to help this wonderful couple design their dream home! After working many years in high-stress jobs in the Las Vegas area, this couple decided to build and retire in their "dream" lake home in the beautiful Bella Vista area. They really wanted to embrace the nature around them, but still keep some sophistication. The result is a home filled with warmth, nature, and beautiful finishes! Time to leave those bright Las Vegas lights behind, and just relax...

This is a photo of the 8' island that sits opposite the kitchen wall with the range, fridge and backsplash. We found these beautiful copper pendant lights that have some light green patina, which further complimented our "nature" look. We also used rubbed bronze hardware throughout the home.

Here is a view from the sliding doors to the patio looking into the home. You can see how our open floor plan comes together nicely with the combination of tones and materials we used. Soft blues and greens with the warm brown and cream tones make for an inviting lake home!

This is a close-up of two of our accent pillow fabrics. I love the leaf pattern of the one fabric, which gives us some nature indoors, mixed with the contemporary geometric pattern of the other fabric.

This is a new chair and ottoman we ordered from Brashear's furniture in Springdale in a soft green,blue and brown stripe. We added a custom pillow in our more modern blue geometric print, and this unique "tree section" table as an accent table, to bring more of the outdoors in!

This is "Uncle Edgar's" chair, which was probably about 100 years old, that we had reupholstered in a more modern chenille arrow pattern fabric. We added this light green accent chest picked up at HomeGoods, which compliments it nicely. Also, this is a great photo of our beautiful fireplace...

This is a view of the other side of the fireplace. We actually found this nice accent shelf at Hobby Lobby, and picked up some accents to compliment the colors in the room for it to showcase!

This is a close-up of the awesome banana leaf coffee table we found! It was a great way to bring a natural/tropical feel to the room without taking it too far!

This is a shutter-front accent chest we found on Joss and Main, which ended up being the perfect piece to transition between the kitchen, living and entry spaces. The pale blues and greens washed over the shutters, again adds a touch of our accent colors to another area!

We also found this cool piece of "twig" art on Joss and Main, which gave us yet another way to bring in a little nature, and still keep things looking sophisticated! This is a close-up of the accent shelf that definitely had a "lake" feel to it. We filled it with a variety of complimentary decorative items!

The fireplace wall in the living room before we added the dry stacked stone tile surround. But this is after the accent wall was painted - we chose SW6151 Quiver Tan. This warm color was perfect to give some definition to the living room space amidst the open floor plan.

Here is close-up of the dry stacked stone tile sample - found at Townzen Tile in Springdale! So easy, because no grouting required, but you get the stacked stone look!

This is a photo of the beautiful guest bath. We were limited on space in here, so I suggested they use an all glass shower enclosure, to create the look of more space. Light colored walls and finishes also help create the look of more space!

We chose this dark wood framed mirror with the bird perched at the top to give some contrast among all the light colors, and again to bring a little nature indoors in the guest bath. We used the same granite that we used in the kitchen for the countertop.
