Legoland Boy's Bedroom

It's fun finding solutions for boy's bedroom
A favorite project of mine was finding storage and display solutions for a boy's bedroom and his B I G collection of Legos. Maybe it's because for the last 10 years my son has been playing with Legos and I have been challenged to find storage and display solutions in my own home. Because my background is in architecture, I enjoy playing with shapes, colors and textures.
Our first project was updating dark IKEA "Besta" cabinets by purchasing a new white door for the base and storing all the things best kept inside. The glass front doors are for display. We were able to reuse all the furniture my client wanted to keep.
This boy enjoys his bunk bed, so it was given a facelift by adding black chalk paint to the bed frame.
The orange storage boxes and accent pillow provide a nice touch of color to the blue/gray tones in this room. The piece de resistance was decorating and accessorizing his room with Legos, books, stuffed animals, family pictures and hand drawings.

There will be NO stepping on Legos in this boy's room!
