This white kitchen was updated with ceiling height cabinetry and Cambria countertops. Even though it was initially a white kitchen, the deep red color was updated to a fresh neutral and accented with tile backsplash. Staggered cabinet heights were necessary to work around beams and the existing wood floors were refinished. Additional storage was added around the slide-in range and aadjacent 9-inch pantry and a breakfast/pantry area was created just off the kitchen. The countershape of the peninsula was changed to accommodate a friend who uses a wheelchair. Beautiful handblown Italian glass Murano pendants add pizzazz.
