Turquoise Kitchen
This busy family with six children needed an update to fit their lifestyle with lots of entertaining. As a designer, I felt the homeowner needed color in the space that brought a sense of calm to this busy household. The all fridge, all freezer was necessary for daily use, as well as cooking ahead for parties and celebrations.
Most of the original cabinets were kept, and the sink cabinet became the cooktop cabinet. The pantries were eliminated to accomdate the wall ovens and all fridge, all freezer.
A more efficient appliance garage cabinet was added to accomodate the
small appliances and microwave. This freed up the cooking area for much needed hood with a pot filler above the Wolf range top.
The island was completely removed and made smaller, but with adequate seating and updated to a complementary dark expresso wood color.
The dining space was planned to accomodate this large family and guests, with seating for at least 12.
