Mid-Century Ranch Addition/Remodel

I've done three projects over seventeen years at this 1960s ranch. The first was a landscape with several outdoor living additions and a pool renovation. The latest is a master suite remodel and a second level office addition, with interior remodeling at a downstairs office and powder room as well. Roof at gable beam projects a little further out--just like the home's original gables. Below the balcony: the master bathroom's picture window. Cable railings at balcony keep the views clear.

The second level office 'Nest' addition pops out of the low-slung original metal roof. Ceiling height is kept low to minimize the scale at the front of the home. Cork floors, stained pine ceiling decking. Light from four directions. Cable railing at balcony is barely visible.

This room has natural light from all four directions. Mono-point lights are adjustable and don't compromise the roof insulation like recessed cans would do... Ar right, you get a glimpse of the recessed LED lights set into the wall.
