Modern Roof Deck with Water Feature
This roof deck was created for committed urbanists in Queen Village, Philadelphia who also wanted some outdoor space for gardening, entertaining, and enjoying a view of their beloved city. Having meticulously built the house in the late 2000s, it was important to the owners to work around existing skylights and roof penetrations, and to leave the roof membrane entirely in tack. The roof deck is accessed via external stairs from a 3rd floor deck and is elevated to the maximum building height on a pedestal system to optimize views and create a sense of privacy. The space includes a water feature, dining area, built-in planters, gas connection for cooking, integrated LED lighting, and covered areas for shade.
