Moorland Lantern

The design and placement of Moorland Lantern is influenced by the landscape. Working closely with the client and landscape architect, the Cunningham | Quill team designed the pool and guest house so that it responded to and was enhanced by the natural topography of the site. The structure was placed on the edge of the site, leaving the best space for the garden and a sprawling lawn. An amenity that is only used three months out of the year, the pool was positioned so that it would be out of sight from the main house and only visible from the garden. A resort-like enclave was created by clustering the buildings together. The pool and guest house is positioned close to the main house, so that it can be easily accessed and used year-round.
