Nevillewood Sanctuary
Sitting atop a hill in Nevillewood, the homeowners were looking to create a paradise sanctuary in their steep backyard. Off the house, retaining walls helped carve out a new patio area for entertaining, while also leading you down the hill to the grand multi-level water feature. To give the giant water feature a more natural look, the waterfall was made to look as if it were flowing right out of the hillside and continuing to flow downstream into multiple pools of water. Along the edges, stones of all shapes and sizes were added to create the look of a natural embankment, while several retaining walls were added to help shape the steep hill and also add extra area to sit back and relax. Around the property, low maintenance landscaping helps tie the different areas together. Ecological balance was also key in making the feature not only look natural, but also give it more sustainability, so water plants were added, as well as a Koi fish and a filtration system.
