Orangerie
This renovation and expansion includes a complete interior remodeling of the kitchen along with a new built-in dining niche. The 416 s.f. expansion includes a new entry with porch, orangerie, laundry, storage, and ½ bath, as well as a pathway to the kitchen.
The Victorian 2nd Empire style house offers a point of departure for the design of the new addition. The orangerie form consists of a rectangular box with articulated panels and tall, slender windows. In turn, it is capped with a metal-seam pyramid roof. The interior of the orangerie is showered with plenty of natural light and the pine ceiling offers a generous sense of space. Furthermore, the copper finish ceiling of the kitchen seems to glow as it reflects the interior elements. Low-E glass and spray-foam insulation effectively provide energy efficiency.
