Recreational Retreat

Welcome home to metro Boston. This family asked us to design and build a space that would satisfy large gatherings and recreational activities on long summer days. From roasting marshmallows, to playing in the pool, to enjoying the children's play space, this landscape is sure to satisfy the entire family.

Recreational Retreat

This outdoor kitchen is built with native New England fieldstone, a bluestone countertop, and bluestone appliance surrounds. A Lynx brand grill, cabinets doors, storage drawers, and cocktail station make for a functional kitchen for gourmet meals in any season.

We incorporated careful curves into the stonework to help break up the long linear space in the backyard. The curve of the kitchen draws the user into the space while the central bar makes for a great spot to serve drinks and hors d'oeuvres.

This fire pit area incorporates natural stone seating. The seating walls act as retaining walls and are carefully battered to accommodate comfortable seating while the bluestone bench compliments the bluestone patio. Lush native plantings add a wonderful backdrop and bring life to the space.
