Traditional Garden Revisited

Magma was hired to design and build a garden experience throughout this entire property. We built the project in two phases. The first phase in the rear of the property consisted of reclaiming a woodland area that had been overrun by invasive plant material. We carefully removed the invasive material, pruned hardwoods, and introduced a native mixed shade planting along a simple wood chip pathway. Stone features establish focal points and unique experiences along the woodland walk. A new patio space was introduced as seating and a connecting space from an existing deck attached to the home to the new woodland.
Phase two, the front of the residence, was built during the following year. This space offered more sun than the backyard and required it's own planting pallete. We redesigned and built the driveway and hardscape which features an eye catching bubbling urn on axis with the front door. Magma recieved the annual Landscape Design Award from the New England Wildflower society for this landscape.
