This kitchen renovation in downtown Naperville, combines rustic and modern elements to create a beautiful and cohesive design. The existing cabinets were removed in order to open the space while making it more functional. White shaker style cabinets were used along the perimeter of the kitchen for a clean modern look, and darker cabinets with beadboard accents were used for the island to create a dramatic contrast. Panels that matched the style of the cabinets were used for the refrigerator and dishwasher to create a seamless look within the space. The brick accent wall brings a rustic element into the room while keeping its historical charm. Accents of bronze were used on the range, hood, and fixtures to tie these two styles together. The flooring was restained throughout the entirety of the space and keeps some of the historical charm that exists in the home.
