Sands Point pool and pool house

Recipient of a 2014 Archi award from the LongIsland AIA
The pool house was set into a hill, to diminish its impact on the landscape, and allow for access to a sitting area on the roof. The textured concrete walls from the structure extend into the landscape as a retaining wall which provides a backdrop for the pool. The pool is solar heated and has an automatic pool cover.
Minimum maintenance materials were incorporated, such as fiber cement paneling, natural cedar, and green roofing.
