Scott's Seafood: Linear Burner System
With panoramic views of the downtown San Jose business district, the new Scott’s Seafood outdoor terrace brings a unique dining/cocktail experience to the South Bay. Constructed on the top level of an existing parking structure adjacent to the restaurant, the terrace is raised above the sloping garage parking deck, and is not supported by the garage’s floor slab, requiring an innovative structural solution.
The perimeter of the terrace features dramatic, internally LED illuminated, boxed translucent resin panel countertops integrated with a safety glass windscreen/guardrail structure.
The focal point of the terrace is a massive, rough texture, stacked stone privacy wall housing two continuous open 8 foot SPARK linear burner system outdoor units. The wall provides isolation from the adjacent vehicle parking provides shelter from prevailing winds and serves as the dominant outdoor architectural element. The flickering flames of the gas burners and broken tempered glass media compartment bed bring dramatic visual interest to the wall, while providing comfortable warmth to patrons on chilly evenings. The richly textured stone wall and glowing burner opening is illuminated at night by floor recessed up lighting which softly highlights the distinctive wall elements.
The designers’ goal was to create a comfortable, inviting and relaxing gathering venue, and the incorporation of the beautiful SPARK natural gas linear burner was essential to achieve this goal.
