This is a room we did for a long time client. She needed a room to do her sewing and embroidery business in her home. The only space she had was a dark room in the basement with 7' ceilings because of duct work, and with no windows, only a crawl space access window.

We cleaned out the room, accessed her storage and functional needs and devised a plan as to give her all the counter-top space, lighting, and specialty storage that she needed including a custom made thread board that houses over 550 spools of thread.

She was afraid that the low ceilings and lack of natural light would make her feel like she was in a dungeon, but with keeping the pallet bright, adding a false window to the crawl space access, keeping things low profile by
the use of can lights, and a little extra bling with a chandelier, she says it is a joy to work in and she doesn't feel like she is working in a basement.
