Three zones were created to define various functions. The cooktop and prep zone became one area supported by another zone of full height storage and a clean-up zone. Sustainable natural cork floors were used with neutral white lacquer cabinets, accented by the red granite counter and a glass tile backsplash. An Italian fixture over the island works perfectly to illuminate the work surface with diffused light, and create a focal point for entertaining.
