Victorian to Victory II
A Queen Anne Victorian built in 1872, gets a makeover. The kitchen remodel was so successful the client was ready to tackle the rest of the house and bring it to the level and style of the Kitchen. They felt that they had learned so much from the kitchen remodel and it had made such a difference in how the house functioned. They wanted to address the circulation by replacing the original staircase with a modern version and lift the ceiling height of the stair well to capture more light in the middle of a dark house. We worked with a fearless client who was willing to take risks with unusual materials and finishes to compensate for a typical narrow, vertical Victorian structure without adding or changing the footprint of the house.
