The owner wanted to create single level living for the future so they could age in place. The goal was to provide spaces that are more open and conducive to entertaining guests, family, and friends. The owner also wanted a garage and laundry on the main level to shed her horse riding gear without tracking into the house. They wanted to maximize the waterfront view and enjoyment, yet maintain privacy.
