Transitional Kitchen Update (Walpole)

This kitchen was, more or less, taken down to the studs. The wall between the kitchen and dining room was removed, and replaced with a beam that was completely recessed into the ceiling.

Custom niche involved above stove. This is a favorite detail because its both extremely functional, and aesthetically pleasing.

This inlay is a custom design, and is made from walnut, and surrounded by white oak. The walnut directs the guests into the kitchen.

Kitchen has been gutted and cleaned, wall between kitchen and dining room has been removed (note the hardwood vs subfloor transition), insulation has been installed, and blocking has been placed to support the hood vent (right wall).

I added this photo to demonstrate the small details that make a space feel like it was always meant to be that way, like weaving the existing floor with the new. We avoid thresholds whenever possible, to create a space that is seamless.
