This kitchen resides in a classic tudor home in Wauwatosa, WI. The homeowner is an avid home chef, and the cabinet layout was designed to maximize the functionality of the work space. A well-loved butcher block cart can be pulled up next to the cooking zone as an additional work space. Since the homeowners did not want to to commit to a built-in island, they instead opted for a casual, counter-height pub table to seat guests while preparing for dinner. Adjacent to the kitchen is a full-sized dining table for sit-down meals.
The cherry cabinets featured here have a simple mission style and a warm and glowing stained finish. The countertops are Verde Butterfly granite, and the backsplash is a neutral porcelain tile with just enough of an accent as to not detract from the richness of the finishes.
