This project was one that evolved over time, starting off 20 years ago as an oriental inspired pond. Since then it has become a inspiring and calming oasiss. Believe it or not this is actially a front years, where the tranquil area helps to enjoy relaxation. One of the beauties of this space is we built the center floating deck around an existing tree. This creates an unparalled sense of inclusion with the space. This magnificent space does not feel like man overpwoering nature, instead man is becoming one with nature. The exodic hardwood deck allows the homeowner to relax in the middle of the pond under natural tree shade. Although this is in fact a front yard, the homeowner is able to spend time in seclusion due to the large art instilations blocking the road view. When origionally designed and installed, the property was protected by a perimiter row of trees. After many years the existing trees died and exposed this eden prairie lawn to the open road. Timber framed art pannels were a great solution, as they tied into the surrounding landscape as well as provided the much needed seclusion.
