This compact kitchen remodel was a challenging project for TVL Creative! With such limited space, we had few options for reconfiguration. Our goal was to maximize the existing space and maintain the existing footprint of the kitchen as much as possible. We made material selections that would open up the space as much as possible and brighten up the room, even without making it any larger. We utilized white shaker cabinets with a beaded inset panel, light colored travertine floor tiles, and white backsplash tiles. For a fun pop, we integrated dark gray granite countertops. We re-used the existing cabinet hardware to save cost, and integrated lighting wherever possible. In addition to the light color of the cabinets, we selected doors with glass to create a more open feel in the kitchen. Beyond the kitchen, we installed a new solid butcher block bar top and our contractor custom made beetle-kill pine barn doors to coverage the living room storage closets. The end result is cozy, airy, and dramatically different than the original space!
