A Jupiter Residence

This 28 year old home was in need of refurbishing. The first task was to update all the bathrooms fixtures ,flooring and walls. The second task was to select a new floor that would go throughout the home to bring lightness to the space. I selected a porcelain limestone tile that simulates limestone. I chose a porcelain tile for the cost and the maintenance. The third task was to repaint the walls and hang wallpaper in selected areas. I retained an artist to hand paint all the walls in the foyer, living room, dining room, kitchen hall and family room. We selected Chinoserie design for the foyer and two different patterned selections , a faux bois for the for the dining room and a repeated scroll pattern for the living room.. To accent theses pattern walls the adjacent kitchen hall and family room I used tone on tone wash of color. Lastly to this of architectural finish tasks I added the fireplace in the family room.
Once these decisions were made I returned to my furnishings and decided what pieces needed to be reupholstered and what additional pieces I wanted to add. I have many pieces of furniture in storage so I pulled from my existing inventory. My art dictated living room selections of fabrics and carpet. My dining room chandelier with the aqua accents determined the aqua faux bois coloring. The existing wood pecan bookcase lead me to a brown family of color washing for the walls. The furniture pieces I selected a Braquenuie classic design print for the upholstery
With the interior now pulled together I went right to the exterior gardens and redesigned the hardscape to allow for more seating areas. I rework all the terrace floors with old Chicago brick to add a dimension and contrast to the stucco walls. New pots were selected to coordinate. The plantings were all redesigned to give natural feel lush feel to the spaces. I had some existing furniture pieces and added new pieces. I wanted the terraces to have a look of an interior living room where all the pieces are mixed together thus adding interest.
Thus project took 6 months to complete.
