Vero Beach
This 5000 sq ft home includes kitchen, dining room, family, living room, study and 3 bedrooms. The design was a collaboration: an architectural firm, the client and Gil Walsh Interiors. The wife is an artist (many of the original art on the walls are her paintings) and loves color, "more is better" for her and she was very involved in the interior design process.
The handmade floor tiles from Mexico, act as carpeting throughout the loggia and also adorn the adjoining entrance foyer.
For texture we used brightly colored silks and woven cottons and sisal carpet to ground the entire scheme. The walls in each room are a different color and we used the primary colors of the color wheel to pop the fabrics.
We then shopped flea markets and antique markets in California for the accent pieces and accessories. The art seen on the walls are originals painted by the client.
