An 80's vintage, large split level gets a great room conversion. The home was originally configured as most split levels of the era, with the living and dining rooms in an L-shape around an enclosed kitchen. The kitchen, having been remodeled previously, had walls removed, but was still enclosed and not functioning as they would have liked. Opening it up and changing the island shape did the trick.
