Book-matched slabs of "Silver Sparkle" granite from South Africa are the dramatic facing for this fireplace. A stainless steel accent strip separates the slabs. The top stainless steel strip with the lag studs and cap nuts is the "safety officer" on the project. Guess how we got the 900 lb slab...

Before
This photo is the before photo of the room in the next photo. The fireplace was torn down to the studs, the firebox lowered, and a very nice gas fireplace added.
