this project in laurelhurst was done in several phases. the kitchen, family room, and a ground floor bathroom were completed in 2006, and a complete rebuild of the second floor was done in 2010. the second floor was completely reconfigured from a dark and characterless space into a light filled and highly functional series of spaces. without adding any square footage, we restructured the interiors to create a large, open, light filled space which functions as a sitting and study area. 3 large bedrooms, a shared kids bathroom and a complete master suite, as well as a multi purpose laundry room were achieved. the design and detailing were conceived to be historically considerate while bringing the house up to date.
