this work was completed while i was in the employment of rick mather architects. complete rebuild and extension of a detached house in holland park, london. all interior spaces were completely reorganized and a large sunroom extension was built onto the back of the house. the front of the house was required to maintain its historical integrity, while the back of the house balances a simple modern block with a rebuilt, traditional brick wall behind. the glass staircase threads through the center of the house, eventually culminating in a large, fully retracting skylight at the top with access to the roof garden.
