this project was completed while i was employed by rick mather architects. the house is located in hampstead, north london and is a modern, white box inserted into the historical brick fabric of the traditional village houses. the 3 story house features a swimming pool at garden level, from which the sky can be seen through 2 flights of glass stairs and a large skylight. the interior is precisely sculped and orchestrated by rick mather so that it becomes an abstract composition of enormous expanses of skylight glass, glass floors and stairs, water, and pure white planes, while remaining a comfortable and perfectly scaled home.
