this house was built as a spec home on a very steep lot in neskowin, oregon, just 100 yards from the beach and proposal rock. the house was originally planned as a 2 story structure, but due to the soil conditions discovered during the excavation, it was eventually 'stretched' to 4 stories and an interior elevator was added. the house is approached from the upper road, where there is a carport with an expansive deck on top. the view side of the house features expansive glass walls in the living room and master bedroom. the exterior is clad in cedar, mahogany, and galvanized steel. the cedar is treated with a bleaching oil which will eventually fade to a soft driftwood gray color.
