Austin Net-Zero Castle

The Design Concept of the home, which was suggested by the challenging site is that of an old English Manor that has been added onto over time. The design has four distinct structures that are planned phased additions over the next several years. The timeless architecture adds comfort and warmth to an already spectacular site.

This is a Net-Zero home in Austin, we have been 100% renewable since 2005 and net-zero with onsite solar since 2013. Rated five-star by the City of Austin Green Building Program.

We are really proud that our home was featured in the 18th annual TXSES Cool House Tour June 8th, 2014.

2011 marked the completion of the second phase of 1354 The High Road, in so far as any architect/owner can claim a "completed" project. The floor plan drawings above show the complete project.

The second phase's many unique and interesting elements included; two PV Arrays, Rainwater Harvesting, 10" perform wall ICF walls, Geothermal HVAC, Solar Thermal Radiant Heat Flooring, numerous salvaged doors and beams, and additional wonderful stained glass doors and windows created by my better half.

Check out the really cool construction photos, documenting the second phase from start to finish.
