Bluestone Kitchen in Magnolia

Adding an 11-foot wide sliding door system to the south side of this kitchen created an indoor-outdoor feel while bringing in tons of natural light. Part of a whole home renovation, this kitchen was expanded to include an adjacent small laundry area. Subtle angles are woven into various details. Blue tones appear in tiles and stones and harmonize with natural materials installed throughout the home. Most photos by Northlight Photography.

A deep undermounted stainless steel sink can help hide dirty dishes in an open plan kitchen like this one. The backsplash is Oceanside glass tile flanked by blue steel trim pieces and combed bluestone. Open shelves add interest as a place to display artistic or treasured kitchen items.

It's the cabinetry that's angled......it actually follows the line of the slate tile. I kept the slab top straight to create another seating place. The cook's little helpers can put their stools here and reach the counter.
