Craftsman Kitchen and Dining

It was a joy to collaborate with these homeowners to replan their home to make it work so much better for their active family. They are lovers of the true Craftsman style -- he's done much of the woodwork you see! -- and it was an inspiration to tap into their enthusiasm for this detailed work.

I redirected the staircase and moved the door to the exterior to create this new floor plan. We've added tons of storage and natural light, and even created the sense of an island -- a dream for the homeowner.

The homeowners provided these photos......I'm sure by now they've added artwork at the wall over this new sink. Notice the recessed downlighting above the counter which makes working at this counterspace more convenient, and spills light on the wall to highlight the art.

Homeowners and their builder developed the details shown for integrated seating and fireplace mantle. They did a nice job tying this into dining area design.

I placed a glass-panel door where the window is, redirected the staircase, and added an interior window that overlooks those redirected stairs. The new peninsula/island sits where that stairway door is located.
