Christie Park Estates
This project was part of a complete main floor renovation which converted this home from feeling small and dated to spacious and modern.
A key change was to remove the wall between the kitchen and dining room which completely opened up the home. Because the wall was load bearing a beam had to be installed, but by covering it with a textured melamine that looks and feels like rustic wood the beam became a design feature.
The dated golden oak cabinets were replaced with crisp white Shaker cabinets and a stained maple island. Many decorative touches give the cabinetry a classic and timeless look – including the oil-rubbed bronze handles, the glass door display cabinets and the decorative corbels on the island. But one of the most striking features is the hood fan. Made to look like antique bronze, it is in fact made of MDF and finished with a metallic paint. Completing the look are marble-type quartz counters and glass backsplash tiles.
A number of storage accessories make this kitchen not only beautiful but also practical and efficient. A spice drawer located near the cooktop makes it easy to find the seasonings you need, and a pullout next to the cooktop is perfect for oils and large format spices. A cutlery drawer in the island keeps eating utensils organized and a base blind corner pullout makes it easy to access items tucked away in the corner.
The kitchen features a full suite of Jenn-Air appliances in a stainless steel finish, including an induction cooktop, counter-depth fridge, and built-in oven and microwave. The built-in blower in the hood fan is a Faber Inca Smart.
In addition to the kitchen cabinetry, Casa Flores also supplied the dining room and fireplace built-ins.
