Kensington
This home in the Calgary neighbourhood of Kensington was very unique - although the home itself was new, the homeowners wanted to be true to the history of the neighbourhood and the home that had originally stood on the site. As such, when they built the home they re-used many of the original windows, doors and fixtures. However the home lacked storage and gave the impression of being disorganized. Julie Marwood, of Julie Marwood Interiors, wanted to maintain the unique and eclectic feel of the home, while at the same time modernizing it and adding functional storage. We supplied new, modern cabinetry to make the kitchen more functional, but we were also able to repurpose some antique cabinets that had sentimental value to the homeowners. In addition we installed some glass door cabinets between the kitchen and living room that supplied extra storage while maintaining an open and well-lit space. Definitely one of our favourite and most-unique projects!
