Clean and Simple

This customer had an existing grey 4x4 mudcap installation. When she finally decided to invest in a remodel, she expressed that she wanted her new master bath to be functional, adult, and contemporary.
The old bathroom was set up galley style, vanity, toilet, and outdated linen on the left, makeup area and tub on the right. This created a long narrow walkway right up the middle. By moving the tub to the back wall and floating the vanity and makeup counter, we were able to visually give the floor more space. Since there is a staircase below creating an angled protrusion in the floor, we incorporated the shower bench and decorative niche so as not to lose any precious square footage.
The color palette is sophisticated using various shades of taupe. The floor is darker to act as a foundation for the wenge stained furniture pieces and new pocket door. Since there are no windows, we used a frosted glass panel to let ambient light in and act as a signal to let people know when the bathroom was occupied.
The bathroom has several luxury items including heated floor, heated towel warmer, decorative niche with glass shelves and halogen spot, xenon lighting behind floating mirror, and 3 blown glass sconces hanging from ceiling.
The modular rectified porcelain tile is perfectly suited for that Italian modern feel. Also the tub and sink were selected for their minimalist lines. The curves in the plumbing fixtures tended to soften the hard lines in the rest of the room.
