Contemporary Bath Features Wall-Mounted Vanity and Commode

Measuring approximately 8 feet by 5 feet and sporting old tile, fixtures and frosted window panes, the bathroom required an update that would also create a more spacious feel within the existing footprint.

A wall-mounted commode with in-wall flushing system introduced an extra nine inches of room formerly taken up by the old fixture and, along with a wall-mounted vanity, left the entire floor space unencumbered. A seamless ceramic countertop and sink were chosen for simplicity of line and easy cleaning. A small linen closet was recessed to preserve space. Replacing the shower-over-tub arrangement with a shower also created more openness. Bypass shower doors were used to facilitate easy access to tight spaces for cleaning.

Shortening the height and replacing obscure glass windows with clear glass retained privacy while introducing natural light and a lovely view of outdoor surrounding greenery.

Multi-hued blue-slate colored mosaic and light porcelain tile create a clean, crisp, masculine aura. The tall and slim shower niche is outfitted with glass shelves. Wall field tile and flooring are the same material, though sized differently, again promoting simplicity while creating spaciousness. Tile ends are finished with a thin profile Schlutter edge.
