The Homeowner had the front yard professionally landscaped, but as time went on she felt the landscape lacked curb appeal and vitality. She wanted flowering desert native and desert adapted plants, not the colorless and boring front yard that greeted her daily.

After speaking with her about it, I soon realized that what she wanted was a garden, not a landscape.

I redesigned the space using a cohesive layout of small trees and shrubs, along with blooming perennials appropriate for the Southwest desert. Throughout is a nice balance of spiky and sculptural, and billowing softness, and color.

The result? A garden that uplifts the spirits when passing by, and gets better with time!
