By removing a wall between the entry and kitchen, and by opening a passage to the dining room, this formerly cramped room was transformed into an open kitchen. While the room still occupies a compact footprint, the space is very functional. The appliances were paneled to create the illusion of a larger space, and to give a more unified look. The island height was raised to a comfortable height for the homeowners, and to house multiple appliances. White painted cabinets with a brushed black detail are an elegant complement to the tranquil tonal greens in the paint, tile, and granite.
