A traditional kitchen was transformed in to an open transitional space with a fresh & natural feel. A large center island with two levels serves as a gathering spot and an extension of the kitchen work surface. The island cook-top allows the client to glaze in to the rest of the house while cooking. At the sink, large windows reach all the way to counter-top level so nature appears to come inside. That natural feel is mimicked by the earthy rock back-splash & natural granite. Many resourceful touches were added to enhance the cooking experience: pull out baskets for produce, pull out bread boards & cutting boards, pop-up outlets, base spice storage, pull-out dog dishes, etc.
