This garden tableau was designed to be looked at and contemplated from the edge of the deck, much like a diorama. It is shaped by a striped carpet of alternating paintings and stones, transparent side-fences, and a cast of characters that includes a layered, free-standing, reflective fence, lighting, and a dramatically coloured Japanese Maple. The planting strips are varied in width to make the garden seem flatter, while the mirrored fence gives the space the illusion of the depth.
