Howland Avenue Garden

Tucked away behind a Georgian townhouse, this urban garden retreat was designed for a history professor and journalist. The couple wanted to reclaim their yard for entertaining, gardening, reading, and writing. To complement the stately house, we suggested a palette of materials that includes wrought iron, wood screening, and stone pathways. The rear space was divided into three "rooms": an outdoor dining room; sculpture garden; and reading space.
