Hamptons Style Lake Home.
What started as a renovation soon became apparent it was more of a tear down of the existing. Although we kept about 75% of the existing foundation, the rest was a total rebuild.
The clients were very into an indoor/outdoor experience and wanted as many great views to the outside as possible.
I'm always up for a challenge.

A mixture of covered and uncovered outdoor spaces tie in together an outdoor living area with a cover dining area, bar, sitting alcove and open terrace leading to the docks.

A more private sitting area of the Casual Dining entry adjacent to the Owner's Suite and covered outdoor areas.

A rebuilt seawall leading to the boat dock ties into the finishes of the house.

The rebuilt boat dock incorporates a covered sitting area to match the detailing of the main house.

A vaulted ceiling under the boat dock covered area allows natural light inside from dormers to minimize the need for artificial lighting.

Large overhangs for the spacious 4 car garage with storage areas and full interior entry. The long drive reaches to the back of the house for overflow parking during events.

Simple detailing matches throughout in just the right places and incorporates exterior architectural lighting to enhance the home at night.

The Bar overlooks the Outdoor Dining Area with careful consideration on maximizing the views to the lake throughout.

The covered Outdoor Dining Area includes built-in benches to accommodate a large number of guests during events. A vaulted ceiling helps give a light, airy feeling.

Lighting is essential in giving a festive quality during evening events.

The Outdoor Living becomes an extension of the Great Room inside by way of large retracting doors where guests have a hard time telling that it is the exterior until they go out and experience the views.

Views abound, especially at sunset, from all areas of the Covered Veranda. There is not a bad seat in the area.

All of the outdoor covered areas have vaulted ceilings to give a better sense of volume keeping from feeling too enclosed and more like the interior of a home than the exterior.

The two story Great Room is right next to the Kitchen in a open plan concept. Clerestory windows provide natural light from the rear of the home.

A repurposed fireplace is all that remains of the existing Great Room that was drastically changed from the former.

Views are important wherever you can make them, including at the Open Balcony above the Great Room.
