Historic Refresh: Before and After
The Virginia Suite at Historic Anderson House, the home of the Revolutionary War Institute and the Society of the Cincinnati, needed a refresh: redecorating with a sensitivity to the history told in the space. It needed to feel more cohesive in design and proportion. It needed to function well for guests, and improved lighting and storage were needed. An electrical outlet was needed in the bathroom. Worn out rugs and faded colors needed replacing and enlivening. A stipulation was made that the custom window treatments remain, so they influenced the color scheme. In these before and after photos, you will see the transformation of the Virginia Suite. The final space is classic, historic, comfortable, and functional. This was my third project for the Society of the Cincinnati in historic Anderson House, located in Washington, DC.
