Inspired by their summer home in Oregon’s beautiful city of Sunriver, these clients wanted something rustic, hearty and stout–yet still grandkid friendly! Opening up the wall and getting rid of the awkward angled peninsula gave them the space needed for those lively family gatherings. Don’t worry about the new knotted hickory cabinets (reminiscent of the rusticness of Sunriver)– this wood is especially hard, making it resistant to dents or damage. Sitting atop this rustic cabinetry along the kitchen’s perimeter is Pental’s Coastal Gray quartz countertop. The backsplash surrounding the countertop harkens towards the Sucuri granite island where all the grandkids now huddle to watch grandma in the kitchen. And we know you’re wondering about those glass pendants hanging above. A touch of the industrial from Elk Lighting, these pendants help add to that rustic, yet cozy feel of the family’s vacation home. With this new homey and functional kitchen the question then becomes which house is the real vacation home? (We think it’s this one!)
