This kitchen, formerly designed in the 1980’s by Sarah Suzanka, needed to be reconfigured for the lifestyle of the current owners of this Victorian home, a professional couple with two small children. The soffits minimized the kitchen’s openness and a peninsula across from the sink and dishwasher was a choke point in and out of the kitchen. The homeowners were looking for a more open space with an island to provide free movement and flow from the back entry.
