The Samson team installed two bow windows and 1 bay window to replace the original dual pane vinyl windows in this large Huntington Beach tract home. The bow and bay units are from Simonton. We like using these units because they come with a cable system that runs from the bottom of the seat board up through the mull posts (part of the frame that joins the separate window components), and attaches to the rough framing above the window. This makes for an easier installation and prevents any future sagging of the window.
Simonton also allows for customizing the projection of the windows which was especially helpful on this particular project. The client is a professional painting contractor and had very specific requests. We were able to meet them by adding additional space on the interior while minimizing the impact to the exterior living space.
Throughout the installation we consulted and collaborated with Mr. Kim to ensure that he was happy with the end result. For example we made last minute changes to the shape of the exterior stucco facade which made all of us extremely proud of the finished product.
One of the biggest challenges here was completing the installation without compromising the newly remodeled kitchen cabinets and granite counter top. With careful planning we integrated this beautiful bow window seamlessly into the already custom finished kitchen. (See cover photo)
