Indian Springs Kitchen and Breakfast Nook

These homeowners wanted to turn their small kitchen with unusual layout and limited square footage into a chef’s kitchen, equipped for entertaining. They also wanted an area where the family (including the teenagers) could sit all together and a new coffee bar that would overlook their pool.

The original L-shaped kitchen had only minimal counter space, builder-grade appliances and no area for entertaining inside the kitchen. There was also a long peninsula, near the back door, that limited access to the back door/porch area. The original adjacent dining room with French doors was used only as a storage space for boxes, not being fully utilized.
To achieve a more open-concept and functional plan for entertaining, the remodeler was able to demo the interior wall between the dining room and former kitchen to enlarge the new kitchen and create a spacious eat-in area with a dramatic island and L-shaped cabinetry, along with new breakfast nook and coffee bar/pantry.
